8 Things You May Not Know About Hiddeninthesand.com, The Ultimate Tally Hall Fan Headquarters!
…in no particular order:
#8) HITS is 8 years, 8 months, and 5 days old.
#7) Jennie Sadler suggested the name for the website.
#6) The site’s general attitude and concept was modeled after a Tool fan site and an oldFiona Apple fan site; both of which were once frequented by Coz (webmaster and creator of HITS).
#5) You may know that before HITS was created, Coz ran the Official Tally Hall LiveJournal Community. But you may not know that a rival Tally Hall community popped up at one point and began posting hate messages towards the official one.
#4) Before the LiveJournal Community, there was virtually NO information about the band on the web outside their own site and their artists pages on various indie music sites (Myspace, PureVolume, etc).
#3) The first chatroom on HITS had an artificially intelligent bot that hung around named Mr. Moon. He would flirt with girls and speak nonsense otherwise. And yes, he would properly respond when you asked him about the sky.
#2) Although the popular easter eggs of past designs have been removed, a new one was recently added.
#1) Joe said once that seeing this screenshot on HITS of their album on the TV at the end of The O.C., was responsible, in part, for the inspiration of the Good Day video.http://www.hiddeninthesand.com/blogs/news/2006/04/new-gigs-the-oc
